CONSOLIDATED HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT 230 ANNOUNCES 32ND ANNUAL STAGG JAMBOREE FOR SEPTEMBER 17
PALOS HILLS – Stagg High School will host its 32nd Annual Marching Band Jamboree on September 17 when 20 bands will converge on the school’s stadium field to show the best in marching band performance.
The event will begin with an exhibition performance by Conrady Junior High at 3:15 p.m., followed by the Stagg Chorale performing the National Anthem. The first high school band performs at 3:45 p.m. and the Stagg Marching Chargers will wrap the event up with its exhibition performance at 9:30 p.m.
The Stagg Marching Jamboree showcases the finest marching bands in the state perform competitive marching shows. Each band is placed in a class depending on the size of their band. Those bands are rated in music, visual, auxiliary, drum major, and percussion categories. Bands can win trophies based on where they place in their class (3rd, 2nd, 1st), or how well they did in their caption (outstanding music, marching, visual, auxiliary, drum majors, percussion). The judges consist of some of the finest educators in the Midwest, and are sure to provide the directors and students with excellent feedback.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for senior citizens and students (with a valid ID), and free for children under 5. A family fun pack (2 adults, 2 children) will be available for $20. Tickets are available at the gate.
“We here at Stagg are honored to host the 32nd Annual Marching Band Jamboree,” said Band Director Robert Mecozzi. “Each participating band has spent countless hours rehearsing in order to present the high quality shows. The Jamboree is a celebration of that time and that effort. This is an event that wouldn’t be possible without the support of our outstanding students, staff and administration. It also wouldn’t be possible without our wonderful community, who have always been huge supporters of not only the Stagg Jamboree, but of our entire Fine Arts program. We encourage everyone to come on out and see some of the finest bands in the state perform.”
